Who are the Masons?

Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.

The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.

The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

Upcoming events this month

As submitted by Secretary WB Rich Lathrope:

Friday September 18th – 7:30 p.m. – Olympia - 2 MM Degrees

I just checked with WB Ed Bennett who is SW of Olympia that the meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. and learned that there will be two candidates.

Saturday September 19th – 6:00 p.m. – Centralia – Installation of Officers

Br Jerry Vaudrin will be installed as WM of Centralia Lodge by VWB Dick Nyholm with VWB Clayton LaVigne as Marshal – so expect crisp rectangular corners. Starting at 6 there will be a social hour – nice idea Jerry. Then we will go into Lodge for the ceremony and afterwards there may be even more refreshments. Br Jerry is very good with the social aspects of Lodge so bring your lady and join the brethren for what should be a splendid evening.

Tuesday September 22nd – 6:30 p.m. – Job’s Daughters

Our own Br Ed Woods is now the Masonic liaison to Jobies and there will be an initiation ceremony on this evening. Many Lodges owe Jobies a visit so this would seem like a good time to repay these obligations.

Tuesday September 29th – 6:30 p.m. – Harmony – 2 MM Degrees

Brothers Mike Frost and Jaime Roberts will receive their third degrees. Br Roberts received his first and second degrees courtesy of Olympia #1. Jaime works out of town Sunday to Thursday so we are especially thankful for their help and we appreciate Jaime taking off work to receive his degree. With all the practice we are getting on the third degree hopefully we will not see any books open and the quality of the work will be as great as it was last time. Note the early start time – as announced by WM Ivan at the last meeting.

Wednesday September 30th – 6:00 p.m. – Apex Go Karting Tumwater – Speed Night

Br Tony Randazzo is organizing a re-visit to Apex Go-Karting in Tumwater. The previous visit was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. Please indicate to Br Tony at sirdazzo123@yahoo.com if you plan on attending so that we have sufficient reservations. Bring the family and neighbors.
