Who are the Masons?

Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.

The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.

The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

BBQ & MW GM’s Official Visit

Tuesday August 4th – 6:30 p.m. – BBQ & MW GM’s Official Visit, Chili Cook-Off, Wild Shirt Night


WM Ivan specifically invited the MWGM to come during one of our family BBQs so he could enjoy the fellowship we all enjoy at the BBQs – we anticipate a large crowd - so turn up early. This is Hawaiian shirt night and it is also Chili Cook-Off night. It would be great if we had a multitude of Chili recipes – so that someone can trounce WB Casper.


MWB Gale will be installing WB Rod Mason as Grand Sword Bearer. This Installation will be performed in open Lodge by the MWGM. We have seven brothers who will be recognized for their length of service with Masonry. The MWGM will also be doing this in open Lodge. MWB Gale will then make a short address to all those gathered. Ladies, EAMs and FCMs will then retire to the refreshment room.


We will then have a short Stated Meeting – allowing us to properly greet the Grand Master and to help him close the Lodge in ample form. We also have a couple of applicants on whom we need to ballot.
