Attendance dropped from 140 to 100, but those numbers are both a little suspect; last year we counted plates and I always thought we had some double counting and this year we counted slips and I am not sure we got all of them back. I had planned on feeding 120 so there were a few sausages and eggs left over but less than one package of each – so we were close. The only reason for counting is so that we can order the right amount of food.
We were particularly fortunate this year because Doug McKay donated 14 dozen eggs. So please next time you go to any supermarket please ask for OVEREASY eggs. Doug says he does not have distribution anywhere in Western Washington – so if you actually want to buy some either take a trip to Vancouver BC where they are sold or ask Doug. Meanwhile, he says he would love to have distribution in the local supermarkets because most of his current sales are to military and institutional organizations.
I also buckled down and made some Cinnabon type buns. I did this when I figured out it cost $1 for a muffin at Costco.
I took a very few pictures which you can find at http://picasaweb.google.com/Rich.Lathrope/MothersDayBreakfast?authkey=Gv1sRgCJTXoNC4jfDyKg&feat=directlink. Kathy took a whole bunch hopefully she will set them up on Picasa and e-mail me when they are there.
For those of you who want the Cinnabon recipe you can find it at http://www.recipezaar.com/Cinnabons-Cinnamon-Roll-Clone-18596
Everyone joined in so it seems invidious to single out individuals but that has never stopped me, so here goes:
Br Doug McKay for the eggs, Kathy Backman for organizing the Job’s Daughters, Br Albert Ford, Br Sean Rains, WB Don Bulloch for marshalling the DeMolay, Br Ted Dusablon from Olympia, Helpers – Br Jon Lenander, WB Ricky Bonnell, Br Fred Sjoquist, Br Ed Woods, Diana and Ron Backman, Br Charlie Poole, Br Scooby Garrington, Br Henry Madson and everyone I forgot – what a fabulous turn out and crew – well done everyone. And a special thank you to Br Hank Liendecker for the handsome check he deposited in the bucket.
