Who are the Masons?

Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.

The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.

The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

Tenino to do courtesy MM degrees for Harmony on Friday October 16th

Brother Chris Baeumler is being deployed to Afghanistan on October 26th, Brother Jaime Roberts works out of town every Monday through Friday. To accommodate these schedules with the conduct of a third degree has required some creative thinking and the help of the Brethren. However, we were fortunate in having our District Deputy, VWB Clayton LaVigne in attendance last Tuesday. Clayton is also Master of Tenino Lodge and he very kindly volunteered Tenino Lodge to stage courtesy degrees for Harmony on October 16th, which is about the only date that meets the candidates schedules.

Now, Friday October 16th is also a date on which Olympia Lodge convenes, this Friday it is their Election of Officers. We have become very dependent on the assistance of their Brethren for support in staging our MM degrees. While we are very thankful for this assistance it also means that brethren to perform some of the parts in the degree are quite scarce. So, here is an opportunity to learn a new part and participate in the degree work. Please contact Harmony Secretary WB Rich Lathrope if you are available – and what parts you like to perform.
