Who are the Masons?

Masons in Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey congregate at Harmony Lodge #18, the friendliest Lodge in Thurston County, WA. Our Lodge includes a broad cross-section of the community and we welcome men over the age of 18 who want to improve themselves by associating with like-minded peers. Our membership is distributed fairly evenly across age groups and by profession, although because of the proximity to Fort Lewis (JBLM), many of our members are active duty military or veterans.

The Masonic Fraternity is the oldest Fraternity in the world. The Masonic Family includes Masons as well as organizations for their ladies, couples, and youth.

The Masonic Family provides more than $2 million a day to charitable activities such as hospitals, youth scholarship, and those less fortunate than we.

1st Thurston County CHIPs event - Aug. 2

Saturday, August 2nd - Tanglewilde Fun Day goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tanglewilde Park, corner of Wildcat Street and Husky Way, Olympia. There will be activities for kids, entertainment , food concessions and information booths on local businesses and services. Among the information booths will be the Masonic Child Identification Program. (CHIP)
As taken from the website www.tanglewilde.org:
Masonic Child Identification Programs (CHIP) are a charitable initiative by North American Freemasonry lodges to aid in the identification and recovery of missing children. CHIP programs are supported monetarily at the Grand Lodge level, and are staffed by volunteers from subordinate lodges as well as law enforcement and dental professionals.

The CHIP programs allow parents the opportunity to create a kit of identifying materials for their child,
free of charge. The kit contains a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video, computer disk, or DVD of the child, a dental imprint, and a DNA sample. The purpose of the kit is to provide critical information to the public and to law enforcement in the event that a child goes missing. The program has been lauded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all parents and families. Again, this service is free of charge.
